Chickpea Shawarma Wrap

This wrap features marinated chickpeas seasoned with cumin and smoked paprika, combined with fresh lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and thinly sliced red onion. Drizzle with tahini sauce and a squeeze of lemon for extra zest.

- Cucumber - 1 pc
- Tomatoes - 1 pc
- Lemon Juice - 15 ml
- Chickpeas - 400 g
- Parsley - 10 g
- Onion - 0.5 pc
- Salt - 0.5 tsp
- Pepper - 0.5 tsp
- Cumin - 1 tsp
- Smoked Paprika - 1 tsp
- Olive Oil - 15 ml
- Tahini - 50 ml
- Tortillas - 4 pcs
- Lettuce - 100 g
Directions
Step 1
In a bowl, mix 400 g canned chickpeas (drained) with 15 ml olive oil, 15 ml fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Warm 4 tortilla wraps or pita bread.
Step 3
Spread about 50 ml of tahini sauce (optional) over each wrap.
Step 4
Top with 100 g chopped lettuce, 1 sliced tomato, 1 sliced cucumber, and 0.5 thinly sliced red onion.
Step 5
Add the marinated chickpeas and drizzle any remaining marinade on top.
Step 6
Garnish with 10 g chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Cook's Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chickpea marinade.
