Chocolate Banana Bread

This chocolate banana bread is an indulgent take on classic banana bread. Ripe bananas add natural sweetness and moisture, while cocoa powder and chocolate chips provide deep chocolate flavor. It's great sliced and served warm or at room temperature.

- Cocoa Powder - 30 g
- Flour - 150 g
- Butter - 60 ml
- Salt - 1 pinch
- Sugar - 100 g
- Chocolate Chips - 80 g
- Bananas - 3 pcs
- Vanilla Extract - 5 ml
- Eggs - 1 pc
- Baking Powder - 5 g
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 23×13 cm loaf pan.
Step 2
In a bowl, mash 3 ripe bananas (around 300 g peeled) and set aside.
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, whisk 100 g sugar, 60 ml melted butter (or oil), and the mashed bananas.
Step 4
Add 1 beaten egg and 5 ml vanilla extract; stir to combine.
Step 5
Sift in 150 g all-purpose flour, 30 g cocoa powder, 5 g baking powder, and 1 g salt (a pinch), then fold in gently.
Step 6
Stir in 80 g chocolate chips if desired.
Step 7
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 8
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack. Slice and serve.

For added texture, toss in a handful of chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans.
