Tender spinach, tangy feta cheese, onions, and garlic are combined with a creamy egg custard and baked to perfection in a crispy pie crust. Ingredients
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Phyllo Dough - 1 pc
- Milk - 150 ml
- Feta Cheese - 150 g
- Spinach - 200 g
- Onion - 1 pc
- Salt - 0.5 tsp
- Pepper - 0.25 tsp
- Oregano - 0.5 tsp
- Eggs - 4 pcs
- Olive Oil - 15 ml
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
Step 2
Heat 15 ml olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves; sauté until softened.
Step 3
Add 200 g fresh spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then drain excess moisture.
Step 4
In a bowl, whisk together 4 eggs, 150 ml milk, 0.5 tsp salt, 0.25 tsp pepper, and 0.5 tsp dried oregano.
Step 5
Place spinach mixture and 150 g crumbled feta cheese evenly into a prepared pie crust (23 cm diameter).
Step 6
Pour the egg mixture over the spinach and feta.
Step 7
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the filling is set and golden on top.
Step 8
Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Cook's Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture.
